However, if you need to create a table field while working in Datasheet view, you don't have to switch to Design view. There's a quick way to create a field from Datasheet view. Right-click on the column heading of the column you want to the right of your new field. Choose Insert Column from the shortcut menu. Access creates a field with a name such as "Field1". You can then immediately start entering data in. You can also use the shortcut menu to rename or delete the newly created field. Later you can go to Design view to set the field's properties.
